I do find it very funny how people spend so much time on bands boards being negative about the bands. That said everyone has the right to express their views--- so even though I think this negativity says more about the person making the comments then the comments themselves express, I will defend your rights to be negative.

As far as Karma goes--- almost all forums I am active on (music and other topics) have some sort of point system, and a thank you/I don't like system. Furthur calls it Karma--- cool... whatever... Phil and Jill have said please keep the community positive, and this point system is a way of looking at a comment and figuring out if this person is a constant negative voice or perhaps expressing something interesting. I don't see this as a violation of my civil liberties--- in fact I have found it helpful in deciding who's threads I should follow and who's I should ignore.

I should have ignored this one---- but felt compelled to add my voice to this debate.

I am not hip. I am not heady. I was was in 7th grade in 1995, and am not "Old School." I love hearing whatever they want to play, where ever they want to play it. With whomever they want to play it with! This is not because I am a "fluffing noob," or whatever lame label applies here. It is because I love these songs, this large loose and crazy community, and think it's rad that in 2011 I can experience what I have with this band.

I missed out on being a Deadhead--- I am a Furthur Fan, and that's cool with me.

I was told to come here by the administration of the Phil Zone. I have been a fan of the Grateful Dead for over 40 years and thought I might find some like minded people here and also some general discourse.

Yeah, I was here the day the site went up and I too was redirected from PZ.....I felt it was kinda strong-arming some folks who were GD/Phil fans and not necessarily Furthur fans to sign up here.....It actually kinda sucks since the PZ was pretty cool, now i here it might go down for good....Sorry bout the confusion Shakin, thought you just popped up randomly....

I just hope all of the Dead family can get along here, regardless of who you are a fan of (GD/Furthur/The Dead/TOO/P&F/RD/DSO) i think it's safe to say we ALL love and respect the Dead's music as a whole...

You make a good point GrayFolded. Perhaps if people on the PZ hadn't been forced into coming over here for a few days there wouldn't be so much hostility coming from some of their members now. Hey wait! That's....... wait for it...... karma!

Just dont understand Shakin why you spout all over this forum and constantly defend yourself. This forum is about the band, not horses and cigarettes (although tragic). Let's all use this community page for something POSITIVE.

not really. there are just some of that ilk who believe hippies deserve to be shot down and rainbows rubbed out, who were salivating at the chance to take this place on. and plans are still being made:

>>>Duke i'm going to get banned from the further board a lot better than you did. believe me i will fucking light that place up. they will be talking about the Hikingman long after i'm gone.

fortunately, that was said by the biggest empty threat dude there, so i wouldn't worry about it too much.

and i'm really proud of all you folks who aren't buying into their trip. let's keep the pz vibe quarantined to the pz!

I didn't read this stuff, Negs, but every time I give you a Karma point you end up losing two or three more.

There is a folder for show reviews, one for Music talk, One for fans to connect and one for General Discussion (this one). What the hell should be here if not for topics such as things in the news? Talk about who has the best veggie burritos on the lot?

Forget the veggie burritos. Gotta' go with the meatless hot dogs.
Come to think of it, I havent seen those signs in the lot since about 1988.
